How much does a tattoo cost?
Our minimum price is £100, which is also our hourly rate. Artists also offer a day rate. Email your idea, a rough size in centimetres and the placement for a quote.
How do I book?
Send an enquiry or email info@blackhopetattoo.com. Once your artist has quoted, a 50% non-refundable deposit secures your appointment.
How much notice do I need to reschedule?
At least 5 working days. Rebooking with less notice means losing your deposit.
Can I go to the gym or a sunbed after?
The gym is fine once you feel ready, but avoid rubbing the area. Avoid swimming, saunas, jacuzzis and steam rooms until healed, and sunbeds for about 4 weeks.
Do you take walk-ins?
Mostly not. Reschedules sometimes free up a slot, which we post on Facebook and Instagram. If you want a specific date, email us and we'll do our best.
Can I see the design before the day?
No. Send a detailed brief with reference images by email, and your artist will go over the design with you 15 to 20 minutes before your appointment. Cover-ups are freehanded on the day.
Can you fix or cover an old tattoo?
Email us clear photos, one close up and one from a distance, and the artist will let you know what's possible. The same goes for tattooing over scars.
Does it hurt?
It's bearable, and most people come back for more. We advise against numbing cream.
How should I prepare?
Eat and drink well beforehand, get a good night's sleep, and avoid alcohol the day before and on the day.
Are your products vegan?
Yes. All of the inks, transfer paper and creams we use are vegan.
Can my friend come with me?
Friends are welcome to wait in reception, but they can't come into the tattoo area.
How old do I need to be?
You must be 18 by law, and parental consent doesn't apply to tattooing. If you're under 25, bring a valid driving licence or passport.
Can I get tattooed while pregnant or breastfeeding?
No. Please call to reschedule your appointment.
